There are over 9 million people in the United States that are visually impaired and millions more around the world. Many of these people have never heard the wonderful news that God loves them. They have not heard the Good News that God sent his only Son into the world that they might have everlasting life! It is our desire at Braille Bibles International to see that every visually impaired individual has an opportunity to hear, read and study this Good News.

Paul writes in his letter to the Romans, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…" (Romans 1:16). The word it refers to the Gospel of Christ, so the power of God to salvation lies in the Gospel of Christ. The Gospel of Christ that we have available to us is God's Holy Word. By providing the Bible in Braille to blind individuals, we give the power to the individual to receive the gift of salvation and eternal life with God.

The prophet Isaiah wrote in Isaiah 55:11 this about God's Word: "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." From this verse we are assured that by sending out God's Word in Braille, it will accomplish the task that God has set for it.

Braille Bibles International's Purpose

Braille Bibles International was formed in December of 1996 as a Missouri Nonprofit Organization. The Internal Revenue Service has recognized us as being a tax exempt 501 (c) (3) organization. The State of Missouri has also exempted the organization from state sales tax. The purposes of the organization are as follows:

  1. To reach and teach the visually impaired through God's Holy Word.
  2. To provide Braille Bibles and related religious and educational materials to the visually impaired.
  3. To create and disseminate educational materials to assist the visually impaired in using and studying the Bible.
  4. To assist other charitable and educational organizations in the conduct of similar activities.
